The app collects nothing

This is a statement about how the app is actually built, not an aspiration. The MOAR app in testing today:

• has no accounts and no sign-in, so there is nothing to attach data to;
• contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking software of any kind;
• makes no network requests — the shops and products you see are sample data shipped inside the app itself, not fetched from a server;
• does not ask for your location. A shop’s Visit tab draws a map with a fixed pin on that shop; it never requests or uses where you are;
• keeps your basket in memory only. Close the app and it is gone. Nothing is written to storage and nothing is sent anywhere.

Because of that, MOAR’s Data safety declaration on Google Play says no data is collected. If that ever stops being true, this page changes first.

What this website collects

There is no tracking of any kind: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no embedded third-party scripts. There are two forms. Both send us what you type when you submit them — they differ only in what they ask for:

• The launch-list form on the home page asks for your email address, and nothing else. No name, no anything.
• The shop registration form at /merchant-partnership asks for your business name, your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give one, your business category, and whether you are the owner or a decision-maker for the business.

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard server request logs (including IP addresses) in order to serve the site, as any web host must.

What we hold, then

Two lists, and the emails people choose to send us. Both lists live in the same Google spreadsheet, on separate tabs, and that spreadsheet is the whole of it — there is no account, no profile, no mailing-list product and no customer platform behind either, and neither is used for anything beyond what is described here.

The launch list. Just your email address, and the date you gave it, so we can tell you when MOAR opens.

Shop registrations. If you register a shop at /merchant-partnership, the details listed above, so we can get your shop ready for launch and talk to you about it.

And if you email us, we hold your email address — and whatever you wrote — in our mailbox, so we can reply.

Our lawful basis for all of it is consent: you asked us to get in touch. We keep launch-list addresses until MOAR launches and you have been told. We keep a shop registration until your shop is set up on MOAR or you tell us you are not going ahead — and in either case, until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.

Who we share it with

Nobody who would use it for their own ends. There are no analytics providers, no advertisers, no data brokers and no marketing platforms involved in MOAR at all. The only third parties in the picture are the ones needed to run a website, an email account and that spreadsheet, acting on our instructions.

Those are Vercel, who host this site; the provider of our email; and Google, whose spreadsheet holds both the launch list and the shop registrations. Google is based in the United States, so either one leaves the Island — it is held under Google’s data processing terms, and we rely on those terms as the safeguard for that transfer. If you would rather not have your details sit in a Google spreadsheet, email hello@moar.im instead and we will add you or take your registration by email.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@moar.im and we will action it. For a launch-list address, deletion is immediate and total — there is only one copy. For a shop registration it means deleting the row, which is likewise the only copy. There is a standing route for both at Remove my data.

The Isle of Man is a Crown Dependency with its own data protection law, the Data Protection (Application of GDPR) Order 2018, and its own supervisory authority. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Isle of Man Information Commissioner.

Children

MOAR is a shopping app intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and since the app collects nothing, it holds nothing about them either. The one form on this site that does collect anything asks a business for its own details, not a person for theirs.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Because MOAR is in development, the honest expectation is that this page will grow: the moment the app gains accounts, orders or payments, it will have a great deal more to say.
